Connections Action Group?
The Creek Connections Action Group is a consortium of public agencies that share the goal of protecting Santa Clara County’s waterways. These agencies include Valley Water, Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department, the cities of Cupertino, Gilroy, Milpitas, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San José, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, and West Valley Storm Water Authority (representing the cities of Campbell, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, and the Town of Los Gatos.
The Creek Connections Action Group was formed in San José, California in the fall of 1995 by several local agency coordinators whose goal was to collaborate on their creek cleanup efforts in Santa Clara County. Since the group’s inception, tens of thousands of volunteers have participated in hundreds of cleanups, removing tens of thousands of pounds of trash each year from creeks, rivers, and lakes in Santa Clara County. In the past 19 years alone, 44,264 volunteers have removed 1,462,816 pounds of litter along waterways throughout Santa Clara County.
Coastal Cleanup Day 2016
More than 1,880 volunteers help out cleaning the creeks. Picked up 55,010 pound of trash. A total of 60.75 miles of creeks and streams were cleaned.
